Our Senior Management Team

Dave Carlson. For the past 10 years, Dave has been driving the vision and development of collaborative Shopper Marketing systems for the FMCG retail industry in entrepreneurial and general management roles, including direct consulting engagements with major retailers. He has an extensive network of industry connections with the leading evangelists, consultancies and technology suppliers that define and enable best practice Shopper Marketing. Dave co-founded Relevance Partners following his tenure as SVP of Retail Systems for InStore Broadcasting Network, where he was responsible for content relevance and integration. Prior to IBN, Dave returned to Information Resources (IRI) where he architected and managed development and implementation of its “Cofinity” loyalty analytics application. He was previously co-founder and CIO of 1.2.1 eMarketing, an early entrant in retailer segmentation and shopper targeting services. Dave spent 1987 to 1997 at IRI, where he rose to President of its $60MM IRI Software division. He has designed and delivered business intelligence applications used by most US CPG manufacturers and retailers. He currently serves as a Director of geoVue, Inc. Dave holds a BS in Marketing from Northeastern and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Eric Friedman is a leading authority on the design, implementation of, and end-user interfaces to Very Large Data Bases (VLDB), with specific focus on Loyalty Marketing to deliver both Business Intelligence and Operational Advantage. He is an entrepreneur, CPG / Retail renowned industry consultant, and organizational leader. Eric has a reputation for providing both the vision and leadership to deliver leading edge solutions, on time and on budget, to some of the world’s largest retailers and vendors. Before co-founding Relevance Partners, Eric worked with west coast grocer Safeway Inc., where he owned the design, prototyping and scaled implementation of Safeway’s Foodflex™ Nutritional Analysis web site based on individual customer shopping history. Preceding this, Eric spent 3 years working with IBM, Siebel, Fujitsu, Symbol (Motorola), Oracle and major grocery retailers to create a state-of-the-art, transaction-based Customer KnowledgeBase™ and Relevance Engine™. He was formerly CIO of HealthScout / Rx Remedy and SVP of IRI’s national Application Consulting practice. After beginning his career at Kraft / General Foods in marketing analysis and test marketing, he co-founded Analytic Consultants and created Acustar™, a prominent CPG marketing BI application which was sold and supported by Tymshare, Inc. He holds an MBA from Amos Tuck School of Business Administration and an A.B. in Mathematics from Dartmouth College.

Roger Bennetts has focused his career on identifying client database/software needs and transforming those requirements into profitable opportunities supported by practical, leveragable software products. Most recently Roger consulted through EYC Ltd. on strategic customer marketing analytics for a large grocery enterprise. Previously, as VP of Custom Applications at Information Resources, Inc., Roger ran a team of 14 specialists, including sales, project management and application/database design/development resources. His team succeeded in its goal of extending IRI’s foundational offerings to include new tools and services demanded by his regional customer base. Roger began his career in engineering, having received a BS from the University of Connecticut College of Engineering and an MBA from New York University.

Brian Hart has led implementation of retail BI, merchandising and shopper marketing programs at several of the world’s largest retailers. Most recently, Brian served as Retail Loyalty Subject Matter Expert in IBM Global Business Services' Strategy and Change practice. He brings a total of 27 years of industry experience, including 17 years in retailing (Ahold USA / Stop & Shop), 5 years in consumer products (Pillsbury), 3 years in marketing services (Catalina Marketing), and 2 years in consulting (IBM Global Business Services). Brian led the launch of Ahold USA’s Customer Centric Retailing collaborative BI portal. His is passionate about transforming retailers' organizational capabilities to apply better analytics in merchandising decision-making and improve marketing ROI. Brian brings expertise in technology selection and implementation, organizational design, and business process change. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Suffolk University.
